How do you Pay?

We offer either a check or store credit for what we purchase. Your books are evaluated & purchased individually (not by weight or bulk). We pay roughly a quarter of what we resell your books for in a check or half of their value in store credit.

Tell me more about store credit.

Store credit is good for used items in the store. This excludes magazines, zines, newspapers, art & candy. We keep your credit on file so that you don’t have to keep up with it. Store credit never expires. You can cash it out for half of its value at any point; this amount will be issued to you in a check.

What kind of books do you buy?

We buy most kinds of books. To get an idea of what we especially like, check out our Books for Sale. Condition is the biggest overall concern in our evaluation. We do not accept books with broken bindings (no matter how rare), mold or smoke damage. We rarely buy books with water damage, underlining, or missing dust jackets. We are very picky about hardcover mystery, science fiction & fiction. We do not buy study guides, encyclopedias, periodicals, textbooks (chinese medicine/massage/herbalism & math are exceptions), book club editions or ex-library books.
